Two Outstanding Engineering Students from Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune Tackle the Challenges of Aviation Technology with Yoskies

As an emerging pioneer in the aviation industry, Yoskies is always looking for the next generation of innovators to help us push the boundaries of what is possible in flight simulation. That's why we were thrilled to welcome Kushagra Shukla and Soumarya Dutta, two engineering students from the Electronics and Telecommunication department of SIT for an internship. Over the course of the program, these two talented students were tasked with building the Flight Control Unit, Electronic Flight Instrument System, Landing gear panel and Electronic Centralized Aircraft Monitor for our Airbus A320 flight simulator.

From the very beginning, it was clear that these students were up to the challenge. They came to the internship with a passion for aviation technology and a strong foundation in electronics and telecommunication engineering. Over the course of the program, they worked tirelessly to bring their vision to life, and the results speak for themselves. The FCU, EFIS AND ECAM they built are truly impressive, offering the highest levels of accuracy and realism in flight simulation.

One of the key challenges of this project was the sheer complexity of the Airbus A320 system. With so many different components and systems to consider, the students had to be meticulous in their planning and execution. They worked closely with our team to understand the nuances of the aircraft and ensure that every detail was accounted for.

The use of simulators for flight training has become increasingly important in recent years. These simulators are now considered the primary tools for training pilots, with their use driven by the systems engineering of flight training programs. The simulator used in this project was designed to meet the FAA standards for day and night Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) and Visual Flight Rules (VFR) operations under non-icing situations.

The literature survey conducted as part of this project showed that the use of simulators in pilot training can significantly improve training outcomes. For example, a study found that the new device can improve the efficiency of twin-engine transition and instrument training. It was also found that the training program may be more significant than the device itself when it comes to training transfer.

The simulator developed as part of this project was built using XPlane 11, a powerful and versatile flight simulator software, and the Arduino platform, which allowed for the integration of various hardware components. The interns used these tools to create a low-cost prototype that could be used for pilot training purposes.

Despite the many challenges they faced, these two students never lost their focus or determination. They were determined to create something truly special, and their hard work paid off in the end. The Flight Control Unit, Landing gear panel, EFIS AND ECAM they built are the epitome of engineering excellence, and we're proud to have played a part in helping these students achieve their goals.

The success of this project is a testament to the skills and dedication of these two students. It's also a reflection of the incredible work being done in the Electronic and Telecommunication department of Symbiosis Institute of Technology. The world of aviation is constantly evolving, and we need talented engineers like these two to help us keep up. They are an inspiration to us all, and we can't wait to see what they achieve next.

At Yoskies, we believe that the future of aviation technology is in good hands. With students like Kushagra Shukla and Soumarya Dutta from Symbiosis Institute of Technology, we know that the sky's the limit!
